Bursting into massive popularity in the late 1990s, the Doodle Breed was interestingly first created in the 1950s and 1960s. Reports suggest that the Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel and Poodle crosses), alongside the Labradoodle and Goldendoodle, quickly became a popular crossbreed in the USA during the 1960s. Over time, they have proved to be a well-loved and temperamental group, with many being listed as favourite breeds within Australia and beyond.
The Doodle breeds quickly gained popularity for their high intelligence and hypoallergenic coats. The breed typically combines a Poodle and another purebred dog such as Labrador, Cocker Spaniel, Maltese, and Schnauzer. However, over time, the breed is now accepted, with many breeders having solid bloodlines of Doodles. The breed comes in various sizes, from the Standard Doodle being bred from larger dogs to the medium, small, miniature and toy.
