Most policies stick to accidents and illness, but pet insurance dental cover is available with Pet Insurance Australia when you add our optional Booster Care13 benefit to your Accidental Injury and Illness policy.
Booster Care13 provides up to $2,500 per year for eligible specified dental conditions and treatments, including:
Gingivitis
Abscesses
Cavities
Fractured teeth due to dental disease
Odontoclastic resorptive lesions
Dental disease arising from infection
Retained deciduous teeth
Dental problems are rarely just cosmetic. They can be uncomfortable, painful, and surprisingly expensive to treat. Importantly, this $2,500 limit sits in addition to your annual benefit limit. That means eligible dental expenses don’t compete with other medical claims for the same pool of funds, giving proactive pet parents a clearer way to plan for both routine health and those unexpected, ‘How did that happen?’ moments.
Adding optional dental coverage when you apply for pet insurance is straightforward. First, select your base Accidental Injury and Illness policy through our online quote tool. This forms the foundation of your cover.
Next, simply toggle on the optional Booster Care13 benefit during the quote process. This is the step that activates dental cover under your policy. Finally, choose your benefit percentage (70%, 80% or 90%) and your excess ($0, $100, $300 or $600). It’s important to remember that the $600 excess is not available with a 70% reimbursement option. These choices allow you to manage how much you may be reimbursed on eligible claims and how your premium fits within your household’s needs It’s a simple three-step process that gives you control over your pet’s level of cover.
Your cover goes well beyond your pet’s little chompers. Yes, dental cover for pets is important, especially when surgery is involved, but it’s only one part of the story.
The Accidental Injury and Illness policy helps for bigger, more serious health issues. Emergency surgery. Cancer treatment. Hereditary conditions. Real life stuff (subject to policy terms)**.
You can also shape how the policy works for you. Choose an excess of $0, $100, $300 or $600. Pick a benefit percentage of 70, 80 or 90%. With annual limits of $15,000, $25,000 or $35,000 and no sub-limits on the base policy, it’s about building cover around your pet and their specific needs.
Booster Care13 can also help with eligible therapies like physio, acupuncture, chiro, hydrotherapy, and even behavioural consults when they relate to a covered condition. That might mean hydro sessions to rebuild strength after surgery. Or working with your vet on a behavioural concern that’s been bubbling away for a while. It’s not just one type of support. It’s a layer you can add when your pet needs something a little more specialised.
If you prefer to stay ahead of things, the optional Routine Care7 benefit provides up to $200 for preventative essentials such as vaccinations, flea and tick control and routine health checks. It gives you room to look after the everyday stuff as well.
It’s flexible. Layered. Built to reflect real pets with real needs, not just a neat list of conditions.
Try not to wait until their breath knocks you sideways before thinking about pet insurance with dental cover. Dental conditions are subject to a 6-month waiting period under Booster Care13, which means your policy needs to be in place before any signs of dental disease appear for treatment to be eligible.
If a dental issue is identified before your cover starts, it may be considered pre-existing and excluded from claims. Putting cover in place early helps ensure the $2,500 annual dental benefit is available if your vet recommends treatment down the track.
Proactive cover is not about expecting the worst. It’s about giving yourself options, so if a dental procedure is needed, you can focus on care rather than scrambling to cover the cost.
Healthy teeth. Happy pets. Fewer ‘Wait… how much?’ moments at the vet.
With pet insurance with dental cover available through Booster Care13, you can build cover that looks after more than just the obvious. And when eligible treatment is needed, access to the GapOnly®11 network at over 1,000 participating vets means claims can be assessed on the spot, so you may only need to pay the gap rather than the full invoice upfront.
You’ll also have complimentary access to MyPetPass5, including 24/7 Live Vet10 consults whenever something doesn’t seem quite right and you don’t trust Dr Google.
If you’re comparing pet insurance dental options, you can get a quote quickly. Select your base cover, add Booster Care13, and put practical cover in place so you can focus on clean teeth, comfy smiles and a lot more enthusiastic kisses.
