Added support for your pet’s health
At Pet Insurance Australia, we know pets are more than companions; they’re an essential part of any family. That’s why we offer optional add-on cover to help protect them against health issues that go beyond accidents and illnesses.
Booster Care has been developed to help with the growing demand for pet dental insurance cover and specialised therapies for pets, areas traditionally excluded from many pet insurance policies. With Booster Care, your furry family member has access to treatments that help them live a healthier, more comfortable, and more supported life.

Per Year
While standard pet insurance covers the big stuff, like costs to treat accidental injuries, and illnesses , Booster Care steps in to broaden cover. Specified dental conditions and specialised therapies are some of the most requested benefits among pet owners in Australia, and now you can add them to your policy for cover up to $2,500 each year.13
This can mean more proactive healthcare for your dog or cat.
Dental care for pets is often overlooked, yet dental disease is one of the most common health conditions seen by vets in Australia. Booster Care can assist if your pet develops dental disease, see below for more details.
Booster Care covers your pet for scaling, polishing, dental x-rays and tooth extractions for the following specified dental conditions:
Note: Preventative procedures such as routine cleaning or cosmetic dental work are not covered under this benefit.
Waiting Periods apply [Waiting period for specified dental conditions under Booster Care is 6 months For a full list of exclusions, please see the Product Disclosure Statement.
Pets, like humans, sometimes require ongoing care beyond surgery and medication. Specialised therapies can make a big difference in your pet’s recovery and long-term wellbeing. Booster Care provides coverage for a range of treatments when prescribed by a veterinarian to manage or treat an eligible condition.
Covered therapies include:
These therapies can be vital in helping pets recover from injuries, manage chronic pain, and improve mobility, and quality of life.
For example:
Lucky the loveable Labrador requires $1,200 worth of physiotherapy following ACL surgery. His loving owners have added Booster Care to their pet insurance policy with 90% cover and a $100 excess, Pet Insurance Australia will reimburse up to $980. This means Lucky’s owners cover $220out-of-pocket
Instead of being faced with the full $1,200 bill for Lucky’s full recovery, his owners can focus on getting their loveable Lab back on their paws—running, playing, and enjoying life—while we take care of the majority of the costs.
As with all insurance, certain conditions, exclusions, and waiting periods apply. Please refer to the Product Disclosure Statement and Target Market Determination for full details.
